It's definitely true what they say, the smallest things can make the biggest difference. I'd been feeling really frustrated with my hair lately. My issue was/is length retention and the fact that I'm not getting any! I've been natural (chemical free) for 2 years and only have 9/10 inches to show for it. The average length for 2 years should be around 12 inches and I missed the mark. But it's my fault really. I accredit it my lack of protective styling and proper deep conditioning. I stopped deep conditioning my hair for 3 months one time and my hair was having none of it! My hair is out pretty much 90% of the time which accumulates knots, dryness and thus breakage. So as I mentioned before, my missing the 12 inch mark is because of me and my actions.
It took me about 5 hours to complete my whole head and I used 4 and a half packs of Afro Kinky Twist hair. It's so much thicker than I expected but I like it! I plan on keeping these twists in for about a month or two depending if they'll last that long. I'll wash once every two weeks and oil my scalp with coconut oil after every wash. Once these twists are out I'll treat myself to a nice henna treatment followed by a moisturising deep conditioning treatment.
