THE ANTI-MINIMALIST

In this post, I am two things, the anti-minimalist and the 21st Century Hippy.

THE ANTI-MINIMALIST

'Cause ain't nobody got time for colourless wardrobes! Actually that's a fib, some people pull it off so effortlessly (I see you, HomeToHem). But I'll always be pro-colour in my choice of clothing, partly because I suck at minimalist dressing and I'm so bad at layering and black/grey clothes, which drain the life out of me. But this is the beauty of personal style, rather than trends. You do what makes you comfortable right? Right. My friends always comment on how different my design work is from my personal style. The former is always laden with strict grids, and white space, completely inspired by Modernism, Swiss Minimalism and Bauhaus design, whereas my clothing style tend to lean towards Art Nouveau, Futurism and Art Deco.

THE 21ST CENTURY HIPPY

The sun lately has sent me into fits of happiness, completely in a place of delight and peace, kinda like a hippy. This shapeless, colourful sack has me looking all kinds of disproportionate and ill-shaped, but I chose to forget that and focus on the beautiful pattern instead. I should've been wearing warning signs on my body because the brightness of it, I was sure to cause car accidents and temporary blindness. But of course all that was irrelevant as I chanted my own Hippy hymn, which goes; 'Sherida,

You is Fabulous, You is Flawless, You is Fierce'.
