My Silver Staple
It seems as though I have been doing a lot of these closet "revival" posts, and I'm loving it! I haven't been shopping for clothes at all, making sure that I fulfil my own promise to build a sustainable wardrobe (read it here if you missed that). As I mentioned in that blogpost, your staple wardrobe or otherwise known as your Capsule Closet, doesn't have to be all black and white. Truth is, I've just been shopping in my own closet and it turns out I have way more staple items than I first thought.
"for the most part, a lot of things can be dressed up or dressed down. Don't be scared to mix casual and the unusual"
I bought this dress from Cheap Monday a good few years ago, and as garish and unwearable as it may seem, it's actually one of my most worn dresses. I do think that a lot of things can be dressed up or dressed down. In this case, I did a bit of both. My tasselled biker jacket gave a bit of "Oomf" whilst my battered trainers brought it down to earth. I initially had quite a hard time styling it because I wrongly thought that heels were the only way to go with this silver dress, but I've kind of abandoned heels this year (more on that in another post!) and I find myself reaching out for my loafers and trainers.
